About Us

The PTA Board is dedicated to supporting the school and parents for the development of all our children. We are looking for parents to become involved in helping us organize and run various programs and events to enhance the children's school experience. Below, you will find information on the 2011 - 2012 PTA Board and PTA Committees. Everyone has a special talent or skill to share. You do NOT have to make a large time commitment to be involved with the PTA. Please check out the information below on ways you can be involved. PTA Committees

Fundraising Committee
The PTA Fundraising Committee plans and executes fundraising events to meet the monetary goals of the PTA.

Membership Committee
The PTA Membership Committee will create and promote a membership campaign, issue membership cards and maintain a list of PTA members.

Programs Committee
The PTA Programs Committee plans and coordinates programs for students and parents, works with school to schedule programs and acts as liaison between the program contact and the school.

Parliamentarian - Dale Sayers
The PTA Parliamentarian is responsible for advising the PTA Board on questions of parliamentary procedures, as well as, reviewing and communicating the PTA's bylaws and standing rules.

Lay Advisory
The PTA Lay Advisory Committee will attend Lay Advisory meetings and report back to the PTA Board.

Hospitality Committee  
The PTA Hospitality Committee is responsible for enhancing the relationship between the PTA Board and the school staff by providing treats, lunches and other special related events.

Volunteers Committee
The PTA Volunteers Committee is responsible for recruiting volunteers and working closely with various PTA committees to help with PTA sponsored events.

Historian
The PTA Historian is responsible for recording sponsored events at the school throughout the school year.

Santa Breakfast - Carrie Griffith
The PTA Santa Breakfast Coordinator will organize and execute the Santa Breakfast, a holiday breakfast for the students, staff and their families.

Principal - Eileen Traveline
Dumbarton Elementary School's Principal will work directly with the PTA to communicate the school's needs, as well as, feedback on PTA plans and programs.

Teacher Representative -  Jehan Gabrual
The Teacher Representative will bring the teachers' perspective to the PTA planning and communicate information back to Dumbarton's teachers.

Resource Teacher - Carla Scott

Webmaster - Jon Coccaro

The Webmaster is responsible for the maintenance and update of the Dumbarton ES PTA website.

Newsletter - Kim Baker

The Newsletter coordinator is responsible for putting together the quarterly newsletter with PTA news and upcoming events.

Fall Festival - Carrie Volk

The Fall Festival Committee Chair will work with a team to plan, coordinate and execute all events related to the annual Fall Festival.

5th Grade Party 

The 5th Grade Party coordinator works with a team to plan and execute the end of the year 5th Grade Party.

Room Parent
Each classroom has a room parent who coordinates classroom events, such as the Winter Break party and End of Year party.  The Room Parent coordinator assists the room parents with any questions and provides guidance, as needed.

Memory Books
The Memory Books coordinator takes photos of school events throughout the year and works with vendors, school staff and PTA to publish a school Memory Book.
